James Conan Tonkin
About
James Conan Tonkin (b. 6th November 2003) is a British and Japanese violinist and composer. ​He has received violin instruction from Akihiro Miura, Dillon Jeffares, John Crawford and Michael Bochmann MBE. He has received chamber coaching from Rivka Golani. ​​​From 2021 to 2022, he was the leader of the Setagaya Junior Orchestra, a youth orchestra in Tokyo, Japan. ​He currently resides in London, UK.

His recent works include playing the violin at a children's concert (The Dragon Connects) and at a care home concert with Michael Bochmann MBE, partnering with Water City Music.
​
He is currently composing a five movement piece for four violas, commissioned by Rivka Golani.
